Bollywood has a history of not giving the talent its due. Very few talented outsiders are successful in making it to the top. Most of them are never rewarded the way they should. They never receive any reputed award, nor do they get a big banner production opportunity. But sadly, they also do not receive love and appreciation at the box office by the audience. These are the actors who deserve to be supported by us if we stand for true talent. Let’s have a look at some of them!
An actor who has given promising performances like in Hunterrr, Shaitan, Commando 3 and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota never got his due credit as an actor in our country. He made his debut with a short film named The Girl In Yellow boots directed by Anurag Kashyap. He received a lot of critical acclaim for his role opposite Kalki. Even then he didn’t receive any award or recognition for it. In fact, his later films could not do well at the box office.
The actor who recently delivered a stellar performance as Hathora Tyagi in the web series Paatal Lok which released on Amazon Prime in the month of May is a storehouse of talent. Even though he played the supporting roles in successful films like Stree and web series like Mirzapur, he was never cast as the main lead in the films which had a big budget. Talking about it he says, “Even the smallest of success becomes glory for me. Doing Stree and Dream Girl, they were glory moments for my family. “
Kay Kay Menon
He is also one of the best actors India has today who has worked in the Hindi cinema, and also in Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu cinema. His best films include Black Friday and Haider. He has outspokenly given a lot of statements on the way he had been always undermined by the insiders and by masses, “Nepotism exists in Bollywood because Indians love lineage.” This is one of his most candid statements so far.
An actress you probably haven’t heard of is Nandita Das. You will be surprised to know that she has acted in over 40 feature films in ten different languages. Das won accolades for several performances, including in Fire, Earth, Bawandar, Kannathil Muthamittal, Azhagi, Kamli, and Before The Rains. She is now a successful director who works for supporting talent in the industry.
The actress who has given a number of excellent performances in the movies like Wake up Sid and Life in a Metro also deserves a lot of due credit for work. She has received two National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. Despite this, she was never counted as the A-List actors in India. She has given a lot of acting performances that did not get the media coverage too.
