After very much hearsay about the drug-related to Sushant Singh Rajput case, actress Kangana Ranaut appeared in an interview with Republic Bharat to address this issue. The drug in Bollywood has grabbed lots of media attention these days. Ranaut happens to be the first A-lister to speak on this.
The queen actress asked to have a blood test of many people associated with the industry and claimed that it is a very common, nasty practice there. “All these brands establish who are the youth icons. Our government should frame proper rules and regulations for all national and international brands. The criteria to hire an actor should not be whether the person is a nationalist or not. They often say we don’t hire you if you are a nationalist. There should be a criterion on whether their blood test is clean or not. It is money power in Bollywood. Get blood tests done for all the young heroes too. They are endorsing 20 brands, the government should decide if they deserve to be the face of the youth.” She spoke.
“Shootings are going to start again and we will have to submit the corona test. So in the same way, make them submit a blood test. They flaunt that they are a druggie, make gestures, and show they are westernized. So brands hype them up and their visibility goes up, and their fan following goes increasing and that becomes their symbol of success.” She added.
“These people promote nepotism, many of them do drugs from childhood and then become actors or directors. Many of these actors, I dated one of them — they go to a place, start with a drink & then go on with drugs. It all starts with a drink, then a roll, and then a pill, then they snort – it’s a secret sign. These actors, their wives move to houses & do drugs, debauchery is unimaginable. I’ve seen how vulgar it becomes and things get out of control at these drug parties.” She stated.
She claimed that she was also drugged by a big actor once, “It was during this time period that this character actor befriended me, promising to help me with finding work in Bollywood. He also impressed the woman I was living with and soon become her ‘self-appointed mentor’, and the three started living together.
“He fought with the aunty and asked her to leave. But he kept my belongings in the home and locked me. And whatever I would do, his staff would straightaway give updates to him. It felt almost like a house arrest”, she added.
She also went on saying she has lost brands because of her nationalist reputation, “Don’t tell me that if I am a nationalist, I won’t get brands and films. One’s ranking in overall exposure comes low. When I consider all these facts when I have to progress in terms of business, and when they say I can’t say anything, I can’t talk about being an outsider or a girl, and then what is the point of a career like this.”
She also expressed her opinion on Rhea Chakraborty’s interview, “The nation had united with movements like ‘Justice for SSR’ and ‘CBI For SSR’, after which the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI probe in Sushant’s case. However, as Rhea gave her first interview, terms like ‘Justice for Rhea’ also trended online. When asked about it by Republic Media Network Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Kangana replied, “Rhea is just a pawn who may have been used him for money, to get films or might have given him drugs, but who is the mastermind behind Rhea? We need to know that.”
She concluded by making an appeal, “When the country is going through Swachch Bharat, why is Bollywood hyped up so much in our country? Who will clean the Bollywood gutter? Through Rhea, we have to reach them. Sushant will get justice only when we know who broke him or drugged him. We should stay together. Bollywood is a very big project in that reform for new India.”
