Who said it’s impossible? Aishwarya Sheoron the former Miss India finalist Ranks 93 in UPSC exam

Aishwarya Sheoron

A beauty pageant winner can be an Indian officer and there’s nothing weird in that. This is what we learn from Aishwarya Sheoron who has set an example for everyone chasing their dreams passionately.

She witnessed her first success in the modeling world in 2014 after winning a beauty pageant show, Delhi Times Fresh Face. After this show, she made her way to Miss India beauty contest and was a runner-up in 2016. Aishwarya had already established her firm hold in the fashion and modeling industry but she wanted to achieve more in her life.

Her foremost dream was to serve the nation and appear for the civil services exam once.

“I always wanted to be a civil servant. I did modeling as a hobby. At that age, I wanted to explore so many things. I was the head girl in my school and, in college too, I was an active member of the debate society and participated in the social service, etc. In the beauty contest, I was noticed by prominent designers like Manish Malhotra who encouraged me to participate in fashion shows. Once I returned to Delhi, I was flooded with offers. The thrill of walking on the ramp kept me going for over a year-and-half. However, as I am a nerd, I wanted to return to my first love, academics.”

She is the daughter of Colonel Ajay Kumar, Commanding Officer of NCC Telangana Battalion, Karimnagar.

“In the army, there are opportunities for women to grow, but it is still very limited. In civil services, there is no limit to what a woman can achieve”, she said.

Talking about her preparation days she said: “I had to switch off my phone, social media, everything to focus on the exam and the result is here. But it’s not that I suddenly generated interest in studies. I was always studious.”

Her success story is shared by Femina Miss India on twitter and congratulated her.
